New website

You guessed it ! We obviously want to say something about the new look website !

The earliest website was hosted many years ago at a Geocities address. It was always intended that one day the club would operate its own domain name, to avoid the advertising that accompanies most of the free sites.

That was achieved in 2007 and for many months those that saw the then new-look website will recall seeing Lloyd Cross driving the club loco 'Santa Fe', in its yellow and blue livery, with Carl Twichel on the end carriage acting as Guard, on the home page.

A few short months ago, thanks to the generous help of Jam Interactive, who have supplied the hosting and the expertise to put the framework of the new website together for the club, we believe that at last our website has found the right home and is "coming of age".

For now we have the Events Calendar, advising everyone when the track will be open for Public Running (around which our Events are based), the News section, where we will relate the more interesting items that happen to the club from time to time, a short entry relating the development of the Club, a single page on the International Convention the club will be holding in 2012, and finally, a means to be able to Contact Us.

In the coming weeks the website will develop into having its own Members Area and Photo Gallery. Members will be able to view additional Events on the Calendar that are not available to the general public, to keep them aware of internal events such as meetings and working bee's. Club newsletters will be available for download by members only, however that does include all the affiliated clubs around New Zealand.
